Laura and Camilo are the co-founders of Libertario Coffee Roasters — a brand born from the belief that coffee can be a catalyst for freedom, creativity, and meaningful living. Their journey began after years of building brands within the specialty coffee industry, when they were invited to become partners and reimagine what a Colombian coffee experience could be. Together, they shaped Libertario’s strategic vision, crafting a value proposition that challenged tradition: giving Colombians access to the finest coffees from their own land — products once destined primarily for export. More than a coffee brand, Libertario was designed as a cultural platform. Inspired by the historic role of cafés as spaces where ideas emerge and cities evolve, Laura and Camilo created a living brand universe centered on freedom, innovation, and creative expression. From this strategic process, the brand’s guiding slogan emerged: “Follow Freedom.” Guided by the statement “The commitment to live a wonderful and meaningful life,” every dimension of the brand — visual identity, language, spatial design, and customer experience — was intentionally crafted to inspire connection, creativity, and purpose. A regenerative philosophy drives the company’s actions, including allocating 3% of sales toward initiatives that generate positive impact. Beyond strategy and storytelling, Laura and Camilo developed the architectural and interior design framework that defines Libertario’s physical presence. The spaces were conceived starting from the emotions they wanted customers to feel — calm, freedom, and belonging — which guided the use of natural tones without harsh contrasts, abundant plant life, and ceiling designs inspired by residential environments to create warmth and familiarity. They personally designed eight locations, translating brand philosophy into immersive environments that achieved remarkable success in engagement, sales performance, and customer loyalty. Today, Libertario Coffee Roasters spans more than 20 locations across 6 countries and continues to grow at an exponential pace, reflecting the strength of its strategic foundation, design-driven vision, and globally scalable model. Libertario stands as a testament to a simple yet powerful idea: that design, culture, and purpose can transform how people experience coffee — and how they experience life.
